Sanjivni Eye And Medicare Centre (“SEMC”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through semc.in, WhatsApp, phone and email, and how we use and protect it. We follow the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the Information Technology Act, 2000 and related rules.

1. Information we collect

Identity and contact details: name, phone number, location (city/country).
Health information: eye photos, medical reports, prescriptions, symptoms and history you choose to share.
Payment confirmation: screenshot or transaction reference showing that payment was made.
Website data: our web host and caching/security service may automatically log basic technical data such as IP address, browser type, date/time and pages requested, for security and performance. We do not use advertising or tracking tools on this website.

2. How we use your information

To schedule and conduct your consultation.
To give medical advice and continue your care, including any follow-up or in-person visit.
To confirm payments and process refunds.
To contact you about your appointment.
To meet legal and medical record-keeping requirements.

We do not use your information for any unrelated purpose, and we do not sell or rent your data to anyone.

3. Consent

By sharing your information and booking a consultation, you consent to its use for the purposes above. You may withdraw consent at any time by emailing us; this will not affect processing already done, and we may be unable to continue the service without the necessary information.

4. Payment information

Payments are processed by Razorpay (international) or your UPI app (India). We do not collect or store your card, bank account or UPI PIN details. These are handled by the payment provider under its own security standards and privacy policy. We keep only the payment confirmation / transaction reference.

5. Sharing of information

We share your information only:

with the treating doctor and clinical team at SEMC involved in your care; and
where required by law, court order or a government authority.

Calls and messages travel through WhatsApp, which uses end-to-end encryption under its own terms.

6. Storage and security

Tele-consultation messages, photos and reports are exchanged on WhatsApp and remain in the WhatsApp chat on the clinic’s phone. Payment confirmations are kept with the consultation record.
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse or unauthorised access.
We keep personal information only for as long as needed for your care and to meet legal requirements.

7. Your rights

You may:

request access to the information we hold about you;
request correction or update of inaccurate information;
request deletion of your information (subject to legal record-keeping requirements);
withdraw consent; and
raise a grievance.

8. Children

Information about patients below 18 years should be shared by a parent or legal guardian.

9. Cookies

This website does not use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Facebook/Meta Pixel or any advertising cookies. We use Google Search Console, which works from Google’s own search data and does not place cookies on your device. The website uses a caching and performance service (AirLift) to load pages faster; it and our web host may set strictly necessary technical cookies or log basic request data for security and performance. Logged-in website administrators receive standard WordPress login cookies. Links to external sites such as WhatsApp, YouTube or Google Maps are governed by those sites’ own cookie policies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings without affecting your use of this website.
